Keeping Celebrations simple
Today we are keeping it short but we check back in on Ep 71 Birthday Parties made Simple. We loved how listeners shared how they kept their own celebrations simple (not just birthday parties).
Like Victoria who shared with us, how she kept her wedding favors super simple. She had the photographer take family photos that were later made available in a Google album for free in a printable format for an extra special thank you for coming. The guests loved the professional photos and the only preparations it took was an agreement ahead of time with the photographer.
Another way to keep parties simple is to streamlined the decorations. If you stay away from strongly themed parties, your decorations can be reused for multiple birthdays.
Now I do have had themed birthdays, like Frozen of course, but instead of grabbing the Frozen plates along with the Frozen banner we made a blue and green banner along with paper snowflakes. We reused the blue and green banner for a mermaid birthday a couple years later. All it took was removing the snowflakes.
The Max/Mod/Min Strategy
We are still coming back to how useful the Max/Mod/Min Strategy is that we discussed in Ep 70 Julie Morgenstern on her Book Time to Parent. It can be applied to some many different circumstances!
Have you used the Max/Mod/Min Strategy before without even realizing it?
