We mentioned a lot of books in this episode. I used affiliate links below, however, my favorite way to “read” books is to listen to them.
I use the app Overdrive or the Libby app to check out audiobooks from my library. You are also able to check out Kindle books on the app too!
Today we are chatting about:
- What we love and what surprises us from Tidying Up with Marie Kondo on Netflix. Have you been binge watching it too?
- A big fear I’ve discovered that I have to say, “yes” to! Hint: It is about A to B Podcast!
- The 8 traps we tell ourselves that keep us acquiring unnecessary items AND the hidden fears that go along with each buying traps that keep our homes cluttered.
The 8 traps are from Dr. Robin Zasio’s book, The Hoarder in You:
- “It is such a good deal, I can’t pass it up.”
- “I might never find something like this again. You never know when I might need it.”
- “This would make a great gift for someone.”
- “My mom would never let me have things like this when I was a kid. Even though I may not use it, I just want to have it anyway.”
- “It’s an amber necklace, and I collect amber jewelry. I have to have it!
- “This item is useful so I should keep it.”
- “I’m getting it as a backup just in case I need another one.”
- “I’ve had a rotten day and I deserve a treat.”
- We share which buying trap resonates with us along with the script we can tell ourselves instead. Bethany loved the quote from Dr. Robin Zasio, “You are not responsible for making use of everything that crosses your path.” Yes!
I made this special little graphic for Bethany, but if this speaks to you, grab it, pin it, whatever! Is there a buying trap listed above that you relate with?
