Even though we love all things organization, we realize life happens and that includes a slump every now and then. Some days you will feel unmotivated, and some days there are far more important things than getting organized. We get it and we are right there with you!
You can embrace the slump and read it as a sign that you need a break. It can be tough not to feel guilty when you are sitting around; especially if there is a mile long to-do list staring you in the face.
To combat that inner voice of unreasonable expectations, Bethany found a new launch lingo, “Be Gentle.” In Episode 3 we came up with a phrase that helps us get moving that we call our launch lingo. This time though, we aren’t using this phrase to motivate us, we’re using the phrase to refocus us after being sick and feeling a general malaise. Although we still use our launch lingo often, those times you are feeling unmotivated might require a new launch lingo to get you out of the funk.
The phrase, “Be gentle,” doesn’t speak to me personally, but I do love changing your perspective. Although often hard in the moment, remembering that each day is a new day is reassuring. In Episode 2, we talked a little more about having “a fresh start any moment that you choose.” It doesn’t necessarily mean I’ll be jumping out of bed every day, but that little phrase does help me put things in perspective.

Book Club
We are reading a book together and wanted to invite you to join along. It is like a book club of sorts! We are reading Junk by Allison Stewart.
Bethany is loving it so far. I am still working on getting my copy but if you are ready for your next summer read, this might be the one. It looks intriguing and I can’t wait to get started!
Create Simplicity with Duplicates
Back in Episode 12, we talked about using duplicate items in your home to keep things simple. Like your favorite lip gloss in your purse and in your vanity.
Dan called in and shared how he uses duplicates in his wardrobe. He finds his favorite items and buys multiples just in different colors. Then declutters the rest. This makes for a streamlined morning without a lot of thinking that needs to go into his outfit choice.
If you are thinking you could never do this with your clothes, check out project 333 where she paired down her wardrobe to 30 items and wore them on repeat. Not one person at her work even noticed.
But you don’t have to take it that far. You could incorporate duplicate items into your wardrobe to simplify just one area, like I do with my workout clothes. I grab my favorite tank in multiple colors and wear those on repeat. No thinking required.
