I splurged. I mean really splurged. I have been lusting after this planner since I first saw it, 42 weeks ago according to Pinterest. And ever since fall rolled around I have been waiting for the arrival of the 2013 planner by Laurel Denise. Mine arrived today!
Then I snapped its picture like it was a movie star because I want to share its fabulousness. Sorry I don’t usually drool over things but you really can’t see all the details that make this planner one of a kind.
What I love:
- The color. She has other colors and I shock myself when I choose gray over green. I’ve jumped on the gray train.
- The adorable striped pocket on the front and back flaps to hold extra papers and notes.
- The first page with a spot for monthly goals. Front and center just what I need!
- The monthly tab dividers.
- The half sheets that give a monthly and weekly view at the same time! On the left is the month and on the right side is the week complete with room to write daily tasks.
When the next week comes you just turn the half sheet and still have the full monthly view that you have been working on. Genius!
- Lots of room for lists in the back. There is even a page she dedicated to certain types of list like quotes. Ahh! I am smitten.
I even bought a new pink pencil to keep the planner from being tarnish with pen scratches and do-overs.
We’ll see how long that lasts, but a girl can dream.
Wow, all this and I haven’t even broke in yet! I’ll keep you updated on the day-to-day use but obviously I have high hopes.
Do you have a favorite planner you go back to year after year? Have you converted to digital planners (I’ve dabbled)? Or do you use a Home Management Binder for all your planning?

Very cool planner.
I have just bought various diaries over the years but this year decided to go for more a planner too.
I went for this one as I can personalise it a fair bit to suit my needs. Can even add your own photo to the cover!!! Comes with a plastic sleeve (can buy extra ones too), a ruler as a page marker, elastic closure, and lots of options for extra pages.
I chose the Large one as I like that layout the best for me. Grr can’t leave the link you can find it at personal-planner.com.au

Thanks so much for sharing yours. I love the build your own option. I have tried so many in the past too. Now I know what to look for.

Excuse me while I wipe the drool… This is amazing!
Here’s the thing: I heart planner. Just in general. I buy a new one every 6 months or so. Only, it’s not because I like them. It’s because I can’t find one that WORKS. Ya know? So, that fact alone would make the price worth it.
Also, I clicked over to see how much it was and the price really isn’t that bad, considering the ever-popular Erin Condren planners are about $50 a pop. Crazy, huh?
I’ve actually dabbled in making my own planner, but now I’m thinking I may give this one a go…

I thought of making my own too. It has never really panned out. Let me know what you think if you try it.

How did it go with the Laurel Denise planner long term? I have been eyeing it for two years, and now it’s pre-order time for 2015. I am terrible about following through on keeping any kind of planner going, largely because they don’t fit my actual lifestyle (part-time professor, part-time grandson watcher). The monthly/weekly layout seems like a possible solution. What was the best thing about this planner? The worst thing? Thanks!

Hi Sunny,
I really loved, loved the monthly/weekly layout. It was one of the best things about this planner. I also loves the little to do list one the side, the front pocket and some of the extra pages in the back. The worst thing is the price. This year I bought a simple one from Target because I just couldn’t justify the price. Even with all the extras I still had some of the same pitfalls I usually have with my planner, forgetting to write something in or abandoning my to do list for a day or two. But if you can splurge on a planner this is such a lovely one just know it won’t solve all planner problems.
Another one that has caught my eye, but I haven’t tried yet because I think it is even pricier, is the Day Designer. Please keep me updated on what you find works for you!
