Today, I am channeling my inner high school student to bring you a few “best of” Space for Living posts from 2011. Actually the high school yearbook awards passed me by, (I don’t even remember voting for them, especially with over 1,000 students in my graduating class). But since the end of the year tends to get me a bit nostalgic, I decided to take my own quick glance back.
Most Popular
Surprisingly, it’s my few dips into the crafty side that have been the most popular posts! It helps that I enjoy reading a multitude of crafty blogs out there, so when inspiration hits, I’m happy to share my own project on blog link parties. There were two crafts that seemed to get the most blog love, so they get to share the title of “most popular”.
Keeping it all Corked Up!
Tomorrow is my daughter’s first day of preschool! And you know what that means (besides my tears over how fast she is growing up): a new influx of paper! It sets my organizing heart aflutter to think of all the art projects she’ll bring home. In honor of this occasion, I’m sharing a cork-board I made to display her new works of art. Call me crazy, but I don’t like anything on my refrigerator– plus the stainless front is not magnetic anyway.
Feeling a Little Crafty
I love it when organizing can happen without spending a fortune on cute containers. Low cost solutions are great and free ones are even better! I am always looking for ways to re-purpose items around my home. My friend sent me a picture of a magazine article with directions to make your own desk organizer out of cake boxes. I knew I had to give it a try!
I don’t often make crafts at home, but this time something came over me and I was in a crafty mood. I am in the middle of reclaiming my desk and making it into a brand new workable space. Read more…

The Best Apps for Your Busy Life
I have been on a mission to find the perfect app for my ipod touch to take the place of my paper planner. Ideally it would contain a calendar with a task list. This was a lot harder than I initially thought. There are a lot of to-do and calendar apps but I really wanted it to function like both a to-do list and a daily planner.
After wading through what seemed like hundreds of apps, I couldn’t remember what was what. To keep my head from spinning any faster, I organized the apps into a table with the features I was specifically looking for along the top x-axis. I tried all the lite/free versions which puts a limit on your task number and many times have limited features.
