On Tuesday I shared a few tweaks that are making my laundry room more functional. Between the rolling cart overhaul, the bag storage, and the cleaning supplies reference, my laundry room is feeling almost like a place I don’t mind spending time in.
Overcoming one of the many hurdles to my laundry room makeover came thanks to some early Christmas shopping.
My outdoor rug is in bad shape.
Our current bamboo outdoor rug held up pretty well over the last seven years but it was starting to show it’s age, especially with the bleached out color from the sun.
While shopping I spotted an outdoor rug on clearance (I promise, this is the only thing I bought for myself).
Yes, I will pay $18 to avoid the planned sanding and staining of my old outdoor rug! I wasn’t even sure if the sanding and staining would work on the bamboo, but I was going to give it a try. Since that’s not one of my favorite things to do (nothing like my love of spray paint ) I opted to get this new rug. Plus it is such a fun mix of bronzey metallic and blue.
It has a few wrinkles from being tied up in the store, but I already love the new addition to the space.
In this picture above, it is reading as a little more metallic; in person you see more of the blue.
I have a few more big plans for the space, but I’m waiting until after the holidays to start those projects. For now having these minor updates checked off the list is feeling pretty great!
Did you buy something for yourself while out Christmas shopping?
