It may come as no surprise that fall is my favorite season (my first name, Autumn, might have something to do with that). I love the crisp breezes and school supply shopping and thoughts of “bouquets of sharpened pencils” (any other You’ve Got Mail fans out there?). But for some reason, this year I am feeling a little gloomy that summer is coming to an end; probably because our summer was filled with so many fun adventures!
We recently got back from a lovely trip to central Ohio for my brother’s wedding. The peaceful countryside and lush trees were a welcome change from our usual landscape. Today, a little reminiscing and memory sharing felt in order before the last summer days slip away.
Isn’t this a charming country inn? The bird-cage collected wedding well wishes for my brother and new sister-in-law.
My dad is the first one ready to lead adventures with the girls. The haystack fort was a hit with my two nieces (pictured on either end) and with my girls.
What barn visit would be complete without a little animal feeding? Who knew sheep like crackers so much?
A view from a hike on the morning of the wedding.
It was such a beautiful wedding! I’d love to show you pictures of the gorgeous bride, but I can’t interrupt a girl on her honeymoon! In the meantime a pic of the lovely flower girl (my little three-year old) will have to do.
We even fit in some site seeing with my sister and her kiddos. We had never been to the US Air Force Museum, and I’m so glad we went. It was amazing. Definitely a must see if you are in the area; even the girls made it through our 2 hour tour.
Of course part of the reason we had such a nice time on our trip is that my girls were really great travelers (whew!- getting older has its perks).
Goodbye summer,
until next year!
Are you mourning the end of summer too? Or are your arms wide open to welcome the cool fall weather? Don’t you just love a wedding?

You’ve Got Mail is my FAVORITE movie of all times
I too am mourning the loss of summer because of all the things I feel we didn’t get to do. Usually you can find us at the beach every other weekend but we only made it once this summer. I don’t even think we made it to the zoo. Next summer I vow to do more fun things.

I can watch You’ve Got Mail over and over! What is it about that movie? I didn’t even like it the 1st time I saw it.
I can relate to your vow. This is the last year before “real” school starts for my oldest. I am feeling a push to fit in all those activities we haven’t done yet.

We are just now getting our “summer” in San Francisco and it will not last too long. Since moving here I miss the three months of warm weather I was used to.
