As we are all reflecting on the past year and looking forward to the coming year, I realize there are some things I don’t want to bring with me into 2011. For 10 minutes, I am going to work on one item I have been procrastinating on. My mantra, “I can do anything for 10 minutes!”
Although there were many to choose from like re-potting my plant or sweeping under my fridge…
There is one with a more lasting effect that I need to make a move on before the year ends; to put pictures in a photo album. I have procrastinated because I want to do it all in one sitting which is where the original idea for 10 Minute Tuesday came from. I have to find the balance with what I wish I could do and what I can actually do.
I am going to prove to myself I can work for 10 minutes on my photo album and then put it away. It doesn’t have to be an all out project and I don’t have to enter it into a scrapbook contest when I am done. It took me 1 minute to get everything out.
After 9 minutes I had 5 and a half pages done with a sizable toss pile. When the timer went off, I wanted to work longer but realistically I didn’t have time.
It took another 3 minutes to put everything away but I was so satisfied that I started this project. I have set my 2011 on the right trajectory!
What would you like to see off your list in 2011? What are your reasons for procrastinating? Is there a small part of a project that you can spend 10 minutes on?

I like your idea to break this into 10 minute chunks. Great way to tackle any project; esp photos.
