One thing I struggle with constantly, is finding large chunks of time to work on a project. I end up putting things off until I have a good amount of time to sit down and start a project. Well with a 2 year old and a 4 year old, we all know that rarely happens. One of the reasons I started this blog was to be motivated to make time instead of just closing the cabinet door.
This brings me to introduce my new feature post, 10 Minute Tuesdays, which asks the question, “What can I do in only 10 minutes?” Each week I will pose a new activity to accomplish in only 10 minutes. Please do it along with me and we’ll check things off our to-do lists together.
This week’s 10 Minute Project is to find a drawer in your house that needs a revamp. Set your timer to help you stay focused. You are not making your drawer perfect, instead you are using your 10 minutes to improve the space even if it is just throwing away the trash.
It could be your catch all drawer or a drawer that has been previously organized but has lost it’s way. As you can see my drawer fits into both those categories! After I emptied most of the drawer and put things away in their home, I had my new drawer.
Oh it looks so much better! We all have drawers that can quickly get out of control without routine maintenance. Set your timer for 10 minutes and get started!

This is such a great idea. I too get overwhelmed by the idea of even getting started. 10 minute Tuesdays makes it feel much more do-able.
Question: Once you emptied the drawer, what was your next step? Did some of the items in the drawer get a new home or were you able to fit everything back in there with new containers? Thanks for the great idea!

Thanks Bmoves. Since the drawer had containers that had become out of control, the first step was to sort through the papers on top. Most of it was trash, but some paper was filed in my Action Files to be dealt with on my desk day. I also purged some notepads and store club cards. Then the containers were cleaned out and reassigned to hold only like items ex. notepads, spare keys and timers.

You move fast! I might only have had time to sort through the papers on top. That is still worth it though. Then at least I could see the items that were supposed to be in the drawer

All the papers on top were just trash that was stuffed in there to clear off the counter, so it easy. If you just do a few 10 minute sessions you'll be done before the week is over. I can't wait to hear about your results!
